Buddhadev Gupta (Amitabh Bachchan) is the 64 year old chef owner of London’s top Indian restaurant. He lives with his 85 year old mother and his only friend and confidante is the 9 year old girl called Sexy (Swini Khara) living nextdoor, who has leukemia. Buddhadev Gupta is an arrogant, egoistic, pompous man with a singular passion in life cooking. A confirmed bachelor who has never been in love until Nina Verma walks into his restaurant and life.
She complains about a dish being too sweet. Gupta claims that that is impossible. He challenges her to cook the plate the way she thinks it should be done.
